Fawzy I. Fawzy, M.D., Affiliated with UCLA since 1973, Dr. Fawzy is Louis Jolyon West Professor of Psychiatry and Executive Vice-Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, as well as Chief Executive Officer of the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA, and Executive Associate Director of the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA. His main area of research is the interface of psychiatry and medicine, specifically psycho-oncology. Dr. Fawzy has authored close to 150 published manuscripts, articles and chapters. Dr. Fawzy serves as a consultant to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the American Cancer Society (ACS). Dr. Fawzy is past President of the American Society of Psychiatric Oncology and AIDS, and past President of the International Psycho-Oncology Society (IPOS). He is currently President-Elect of The American College of Psychiatrists, and will assume the title of President of The American College of Psychiatrists in 2007.
 
 
Prof. Hagop Akiskal, Hagop Akiskal is Professor of Psychiatry and Directory of International Mood Center at the University of California at San Diego ; he is also on the faculty of International Health and Cross-Cultural Medicine. He is the winner of the 2002 Jean Delay Prize of the World Psychiatric Association. His clinical expertise includes dysthymia and chronic depressions, mania and bipolar spectrum disorders, obsessive-compulsive, anxiety and sleep disorders, and suicidality
 
 
Prof. Juan Lopez-Ibor, Juan J. Lopez-Ibor, Jr, MD, PhD, is Professor and Chairman of Psychiatry and Director of the Institute for Psychiatry and Mental Health of the San Carlos Hospital of the Complutense University in Madrid . He is also Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Research and Training in Mental Health, Spain , and Fellow of the Royal National Academy of Medicine of Spain . He has been Secretary General and President of the World Psychiatric Association and has been President of several other Spanish and International Associations in the field of psychiatry and mental health.

He is author, alone or in collaboration, of 42 books and of 100 chapter monographs by other authors. He has published more than 230 papers in scientific journals and has presented more than 1,000 papers and communications in scientific meetings.

Prof. López-Ibor is member of BUPA ( The British United Provident Association), which is the largest medical insurance company in the U.K. with branches in many other countries. For 14 years he has been Chairman of the Board of Sanitas, the largest insurance company in Spain , and currently chairs the Sanitas Foundation. He is the chair of the Board of the "Instituto de Investigaciones Neuropsiquiátricas Dr. López Ibor", a family run psychiatric institution providing inpatient, outpatient, daycare including sophisticated diagnostic technologies such as brain mapping, CT-scan and PET-scanning

 
 
MAHMOUD S. OKASHA, M.D., M.R.C., PSYCH., D.P.M., F.A.P.A.
Dr. Okasha is an Associate Clinical Professor at Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry where he teaches residents and medical stufents.  He is the medical director and owner of Comprehensive Psychiatric Care, a multidisciplinary group practice in Norwith Connecticut and Colchester Connecticut . He is an attendant at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich Connecticut . Dr. Okasha is involved as a primary investigator in numerous clinical research studies. Dr. Okasha's areas of interest include anxiety disorders and affective disorders.  He has lectured extensively in his areas of interest.

Prof. Norman Sarforius, Professor Sartorius joined the World Health Organization in 1967 and became the Director of its Division of Mental Health (1977-1993). Subsequently, he became President-Elect and President of the World Psychiatric Association (1993-1999) and President of the Association of European Psychiatrists (1999-2000). Professor Sartorius held or holds professorial appointments at several universities in Europe, the USA and China, has published more than 300 articles in peer reviewed journals, and authored, co-authored or edited numerous books.
Dr Sartorius is a honorary member of academies of medicine in several countries and has Honorary Doctorates from Universities in Sweden, Cech Republic and UK. He is Honorable Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Psychiatry in the UK and Australia/New Zealand, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a honorary member of numerous professional associations. He is on advisory and editorial boards of many scientific journals and the Editor of Current Opinion in Psychiatry.
He speaks Croatian, English, French, German, Russian and Spanish.
